1. Introduction
- Change of Programme or Inter/Intra-Faculty/School Transfers are normally processed within the first two weeks of the first semester of a new academic year. Students should note that transfers can only be successful if:
- There is a vacant place in a programme of their interest
- The student meets the required cut off points or minimum programme admission requirements for the particular programme.
Please NOTE the following rules:
- Change of programme is opened only to those students who have completed registration for the first (1st) semester.
- The concerned student is advised to first confirm their qualification for the programme of interest before applying.
2. Procedure for Change of Programme or Inter/Intra – Faculty/ School Transfer
The following are the requirements for change of programme:
- KUCCPS students must confirm whether they meet the CUT-OFF POINT for their respective year of KUCCPS KCSE selections (see Kibabii University KUCCPS Degree Clusters and KIBU KUCCPS Cut-Off Point List).
- Privately Sponsored Students (PSSP) must confirm whether they meet the Senate approved specific programme admission requirements (see the current University programme brochure).
- If the students in 1 and 2 above meet the criteria provided they should fill the Inter-Faculty Transfer application form KIBU-ACA-F-008. Download and complete the form.
- Scan the completed application form as a PDF document and Upload it to the Kibabii University User dash board on Transfers.
3. Official Processing of the Applications for Change or Transfer
- All applications for change of programme or inter/intra-Faculty/School transfers are subject to approval of the Deans Committee on behalf of Senate. In considering applications for change or transfer the Deans Committee uses merit as a guiding principle. That is applicants to a particular programme will be ranked from the highest qualified applicant to the lowest. The highest qualified applicants will be transferred to fill the available vacant places.
- Once the transfers are approved by the Deans Committee the exercise is closed and no late applications or appeals are considered for the respective academic year.
- Students who are successful will be notified via an official notice and official letter of transfer from the Registrar (Academic Affairs) to allow the student to move to the new programme before the fourth week of the first semester.
